Rental Conditions
These rental conditions apply to stays at Surf Hostel Biarritz in order to ensure a clear, respectful and enjoyable experience for all travellers.
The quiet-hours policy also applies to outdoor areas.
For very early departures, check-out must be completed the day before.

General conditions
The tenant may not remain on the property or camp around the property after the rental period has expired, unless authorised by the owner.
No changes may be made to the agreement without the consent of both parties. The owner reserves the right to cancel the rental agreement at any time in the event of disrespectful behaviour towards the hostel rules, the owner or other tenants.
For your safety, the hostel may occasionally be monitored by video surveillance.

Payment
The booking is confirmed once the owner has received the booking agreement and the full payment of the rental price.
The tenant must inform the owner in case of late arrival after 7:00 pm. Check-in after 7:00 pm is self-service: the tenant may go directly to their room and their welcome remains ensured.

Damage deposit
To cover any breakage or damage to the property or equipment, a security deposit may be requested upon arrival.
This deposit is returned on the day of departure, after deduction of any amounts due in case of damage or breakage. If the repair cost exceeds the deposit amount, the tenant agrees to pay the difference.
Important
The security deposit may not under any circumstances be considered as part of the rental price.

Use of the property
The tenant has the right to occupy the house peacefully and respectfully. Upon departure, the tenant agrees to leave the property in the same clean condition as upon arrival.
All fixtures, fittings and furniture listed in the inventory must be left in the same place as on arrival. Any repair caused by the tenant’s negligence will be charged to the tenant.
The tenant may not sublet the property under any circumstances, even free of charge. Any subletting will render the rental agreement null and void.
The property is rented exclusively for holiday purposes and must not be used for any professional activity. It is forbidden to pitch tents or park caravans on site without the owner’s express permission.
Standard check-out
Check-out time is between 8:00 am and 10:00 am on the day of departure.
Very early departure
In case of a very early departure, check-out must be completed the day before between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm.

Hostel house rules
The comfort and safety of our guests are essential. Any guest who compromises the comfort or safety of other guests, staff or local residents may be asked to leave the premises without refund.
A smoking area with ashtrays is located outside. Smoking inside the building is prohibited. Anyone smoking indoors may be asked to leave the premises without refund.
Drug use is illegal in France. Any guest using drugs inside the building may be asked to leave the premises without refund.
Alcohol consumption is permitted only for guests over 18 years old. Excessive alcohol consumption combined with unacceptable behaviour may result in departure without refund.
Surf Hostel Biarritz applies quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. This rule also applies to outdoor areas.
Each guest is responsible for their personal belongings. Surf Hostel Biarritz accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage. Guests are advised to bring a padlock for the lockers.
Guests must reimburse Surf Hostel Biarritz for any damage caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.

Special cases
The number of tenants may not exceed the number stated on the booking form sent to the owner.
In exceptional circumstances and with the owner’s agreement, an exception may be made to this rule. In such cases, a different rate may apply and will be stated in the rental agreement.

Inventory
If Surf Hostel Biarritz identifies any damage, a percentage of the security deposit corresponding to the cost of repair may be retained by mutual agreement between the owner and the tenant.
If an amicable agreement cannot be reached, the damage may be assessed by an independent expert or an organisation chosen by the owner during the inventory carried out at the end of the stay.
In this case, the remaining deposit will be returned to the tenant within two weeks.

Pets
Pets are not allowed in the house. Any tenant who does not comply with this rule will cancel their rental agreement.

Cancellation
To cancel a booking, the tenant must inform the owner by email before the arrival date stated in the booking.
Cancellation conditions
- For any cancellation, the owner will retain the 15% deposit paid by the tenant, corresponding to administrative fees.
- If the cancellation occurs less than 5 days before arrival, the full stay will be due.
- Delays, cancellations or missed transport remain the tenant’s responsibility and do not constitute sufficient grounds for a refund.
If the tenant does not arrive on the agreed day and does not contact Surf Hostel Biarritz within 24 hours, the agreement will be considered void. In this case, Surf Hostel Biarritz will retain all payments and the owner will be free to rent the property to other tenants.
If Surf Hostel Biarritz terminates a rental agreement, except in cases of force majeure making the property uninhabitable, it will offer the tenant suitable alternative accommodation or, if this is not possible, the tenant will receive a full refund of their stay.

No right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the services offered on this website are not subject to the right of withdrawal.
As a result, any order placed is firm and final.

Early departures
Tenants who leave the property before the end of the agreed rental period remain liable for the full cost of their stay, unless Surf Hostel Biarritz is responsible for the early departure.
In this case, an inventory will be carried out and all or part of the deposit will be returned as normal.

Insurance
Surf Hostel Biarritz accepts no responsibility for theft, loss or damage to tenants’ personal belongings.
